Day 1

Subject: [firstname] Thanks for signing up!

Dear [firstname],

Thank-you for signing up to this short e-course on working from home productively. Over the coming days I'm going to be sending you a LOT of information, be sure to check your inbox every day, and to mark my messages as “important”. It's also a good idea to set some time aside each day to read my messages and act on the information they contain.

Specifically, we're going to talk about:

How to set up your home office for maximum productivity
The importance of keeping regular hours
Why you should set boundaries
The necessity of establishing a working routine
How to avoid becoming isolated
And much more!

Of course if you want to get a head start on all this, I've put together a no-holes-barred manual that covers everything (and more) in detail. You can find out all about it here [link to sales page].

Working from home needs to be approached carefully.

If you're like most people, you've probably gotten into the habit of living and working in completely separate places. In fact, unless you were home schooled (and let's face it: Most people aren't), you've probably been keeping your “home” and “work” lives separate ever since kindergarten.

It can, therefore, come as a shock when you have to start sharing that home space with work. With freelance working on the rise, and many businesses now asking employees to work from home, you may find yourself in a situation where the lines between your work and home lives can become blurred. Oftentimes this reaches a point where when you're at home, you always feel like you're at work and find it hard to switch off.

If you handle things carefully, though, this sort of scenario can be avoided. I'll explain how in the coming days.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]

PS. In tomorrow's e-mail I'll show you how to get your home-working life started on the right track. Be sure to check your inbox then.
